An annual gas boiler service is highly recommended by the Gas Safe Authority and boiler manufacturers to ensure gas safety. Furthermore, boiler servicing will also ensure a well maintained boiler, which will help prevent nasty repair bills due to worn or overused parts. Boiler owners should also note that a boiler warranty may only be valid if the owner services the boiler each year, therefore failing to have annual boiler servicing could result in the boiler warranty becoming void.

What to expect?
There are many different types of boiler services so it’s always worth checking what you’re getting. Heppelthwaite the Red Van Plumbers offer a comprehensive service that takes approx 1 hour (depending on manufacturer’s guidelines) – it’s not just an analyser checker.

Please note that we always follow the manufacturers guidelines, which may vary as not all boilers are the same.
- Fully checked appliance for any faults
- A visual inspection of the boiler, boiler location, system and condense
- Checks to ensure internal flue components are sealed properly and not obstructed
- Inspection of external flue and terminal
- Boiler fired up to identify any faults
- Boiler casing removed and all main boiler components are checked
- Safe isolation of electrical, gas/oil and water supply
- Clean condensate trap
- Inside casing surfaces are cleaned
- Check inlet and working gas pressure
- Check, record and adjust CO2 reading
- Electrical bonding check
- Boiler casing put back on – check that it is properly sealed
Annual boiler servicing is recommended by the Gas Safe Authority.
